The software is quick and easy to install, and runs in the background performing fast scans of your computer, so shouldn’t interrupt your work or play.

In independent testing by PCMag.com, Norton Antivirus 2012 scored very highly for both malware blocking and removal, and there are addition tools available in the suite to remove persistent malware. The software also offers a powerful intrusion prevention system.

On the flip side this software only offers web based protection and so is not as powerful as the other Norton products, and therefore is best suited to PC users who mainly surf the web and download music, films etc. The RRP on this product is £39.99.

Norton Internet Security 2012

Norton Internet Security 2012Norton Internet Security is perfect for the whole family, offering advanced protection when surfing, banking and shopping online. This software is nice and quick to install, and it’s the lightest version ever so shouldn’t slow down your computer at all.

In some independent testing conducted by TechDar.com, Norton Internet Security 2012 held up very well. A full scan of 500,000 files was complete in a little over 30 minutes, with CPU usage remaining between 12-15% throughout. The important thing here was that you could still use your computer while the scan was taking place.

On the flip side the software does install a desktop gadget that some users may find annoying, however this can be switched off if required. Overall Norton Internet Security 2012 is a good antivirus product with fast scans and great recovery tools. The RRP on this product is £49.99.
